Ila Darafshandar
Dance Instructor
Ila Darafshandar is a dancer, dance instructor, certified choreographer, and founder of Ila Dance Academy.
She is a member of Mantreh dance group in Tehran, a prestigious dance group in Iran that performs for charities, embassies, and international dance festivals. She has performed at some of the most distinguished halls in Tehran including Talar-e-Vahdat and Farhangsara-e-Niyavaran. As a choreographer she has also worked with theatre directors in Tehran. She worked as a guest instructor at San Diego State University.
Ila started her career as a dance instructor in 2010. Since then She has been teaching at different dance and fitness studios, kindergartens, and art academies. She teaches persian dance (pop and traditional), Sama(sufi whirling), ballet, different styles of azerbaijani, kurdish, Arabic, zumba, latin and wedding dance. She founded Ila Dance Academy in 2016. she has been also directing the dance academy at Iranian School of San Diego since January 2016. She has performed at various cultural events in San Diego including events at House of Iran, San Diego central library, University of San Diego and many more. She is majored in dance and choreography.
